Transcript 0:01 Hello, and good evening, and welcome back to the Well Struck Podcast. The football podcast brought to you by soccer people, and those very lovely soccer people. Tonight, as always, the same three. Myself, Kevin. 0:18 The gravitational pull at the center of our, of at least my universe, Mr. Dexter Remy. Cheers. How are you tonight, sir? I'm good. And then, Mr. Sean Stafford. Hey, looking- In his brand new vermeille... 0:32 bright and shiny. [laughs] Bright and shiny in my garage today. [laughs] Fresh haircut though. Looking, looking smooth. Yeah. I love it. You know. Of course. And it's free, 'cause I'm bald, so I do it myself. 0:46 There you go. I also cut my own hair, which is why I'm wearing a hat. [laughs] [laughs] 'Cause, 'cause it looks like it. [laughs] Boys, week four is done. We have one more week before the international break. 1:04 I can't say the picture is starting to shake out. It's still only four weeks in, but there's some craziness going on. Nobody seems to be able to want to win a game. 1:12 We have another week went by where most of the games ended in a draw, and I don't know... 1:19 I don't know if that is telling about the competitiveness of the, of, of the league, or if it's just there's so much fucking money in the Premier League that even teams like Brentford can have a team full of nearly first 11 internationals. 1:35 Um, but it's a, it's a crazy, crazy time. Um, every- It feels like anyone could beat anyone on, on, on any given Saturday. Um, wild stuff. Wild stuff. Uh, but yeah, let's... 1:52 One of the, one of the few games that, that did not end in a draw, uh, from that Saturday, Ipswich versus Palace, got 3-2. Ipswich gets the away win at Selhurst Park. Uh... 2:07 Y- yeah, so, like I said, I, I watched this one. It was a attacking game. 2:12 Look, I won't say it was the most, uh, technically gifted game of all time, and along with all the ties this week, I will point out I think only one home team managed a victory this week, and that probably was Leeds today when they- Yeah, that was, that was today... 2:26 when they kicked the crap out of Newcastle. But before that, no home team won, which I find is impressive. So, uh, Palace came out, they were look- I, I will say this about Palace this year, they are not 2:36 mid-table mediocrity boring Palace. They're kind of mid-table mediocrity exciting Palace. They've, they've kind of been a lot more fun, uh, some attacking guys going forward. 2:45 Uh, unfortunately, uh, someone going for a ball, little... Got, you know, got a little excited, foot over the top of the ball and nearly, you know, Roy Keane'd a guy. 2:55 Red card, and that kind of changed the whole complexion of the game there. Uh... Would you be surprised if I told you that was an on loan Chelsea player? No. No, [laughs] I would, I would not be surprised at all. 3:08 It is what we teach best, baby. Oh. Uh, yeah, no, Ipswich, you know, gets the- Axel Disasi. [laughs] Ipswich gets the, uh, the late winner. Nice, uh, away, you know, away win for them. You gotta take it, you know. 3:19 As any decent team in the Premier League will tell you, if you go up a man in the first half, that's a Premier League game you have to win. I mean, you can't... Obviously, you can't lose that game. 3:30 That would just be egregiously awful. Um, but yeah, no, Ipswich got the job done. Six points. They're up to six points now, which is not nothing. You know, you gotta grab every point you can. 3:41 It's gonna be a battle for them all year. They... Defensively, they are not co- you know, cohesive. 3:46 Offensively, they're generally gonna struggle for kind of goals all the time, but they're putting their best foot forward and they're, they're getting the wins when they need them. Palace, 3:55 again, I mean, I think we're looking at a year where they're possibly worried about Europe a little too much. I mean, they're gonna be strained thin. They're not a team with huge resources. 4:05 And I think it's gonna be another Palace season, a struggle. They're not gonna be up near the top. They maybe will focus on the, you know, Europe and the cups like they always do. And, uh, 4:14 you know, just hopefully throw some fun games in there every now and then. They're still waiting on... Was it Mateta has to come back, right? That'll be a help. And, uh, yeah, otherwise it was a good game. 4:23 It was a fun neutral game to watch. You hate to see a red card, but it was, it was a red. Like, uh, when you saw it happen, you're like, "Ugh." He is going, he's going, you know- Hmm... guy coming in for the ball. 4:33 His foot just goes over the top of the ball, and when you do that and you spike someone in the kneecap, the ref's really got no choice. He's gonna have to send you off. 4:42 I don't think Disasi could have, could have any argument. Um, I mean, he knew as soon as he made contact with the, you know, the MCL of that fella that, that he was [laughs] gonna have a quick trip to the showers. Um, 4:57 yeah, I think... But for me, I think both of these teams are actually just really entertaining to watch. Um, outside of, outside of every team is drawing right now, there are some really entertaining draws. 5:11 Obviously, this one wasn't a draw, but, like, uh, they just go for it. It's just like nobody in the Premier League right now seems scared. Like, there's very few teams who are playing not to lose. 5:25 They're all just throwing caution in the wind, going helter skelter, and, like, just trying to win games. And the league is only better for it. Like, is it the best football at times? No. 5:35 Is it the best way to, to not get relegated? Uh, remains to be seen. But, you know, sure, as you said, like, Ipswich now up to six points. They have 5:45 couple teams below them, uh, including Coventry, who we'll come onto in a second, who not only don't have a point, they haven't scored a goal. They're... 5:55 I think right now they gotta be feeling pretty good about themselves. You know, they've got, they've got Leif Davis, who- Sounds like he might discover America, uh, and not get credit for it. 6:05 [laughs] Um, he's banging in the goals for, you know, from- Mm-hmm... from that left-hand side. Like, he's exciting to watch. 6:12 Zian Flemming, who they brought in from relegated Burnley, uh, got his first goal for the club, uh, last minute of the game. Um, their, uh, record signing, Emerson, opened the scoring, which was just a... 6:29 I don't wanna say comical, but I do wanna, I do wanna say Crystal Palace played to the whistle. Um, and they thought your man was so far offside, they just... Every single one of them stopped playing. 6:44 Cross comes into the middle, and Emerson just basically walks onto it and heads it in. It, it- Heads it in... it was, it was wild. You're like, "Whoa, guys." I mean, you teach eight-year-olds, [laughs] 6:54 "Don't stop till you hear a whistle." And they're just like, "Well, he's definitely offside." I mean, it was- It's like, "Hey, just play, man." 7:00 There was not a Palace player within spitting distance of him, um, because they were all just standing around doing the Levi Colwill arm, arms up. Uh, they should have known, um, that offside is... 7:15 Offside does not always mean offside. [laughs] Especially these days. Obviously they couldn't have known in the future, but- Eh, but we've seen the way- They, they-... they let plays go now, and you just play... 7:25 Like, they... Oh, they'll call it back for offsides. It's like, yeah, but just go. You never know what's gonna happen. Ipswich is feisty. I think Palace is fun. 7:32 Like you said, there's a lot of teams kinda, kinda going hammer and tongs at it and not really being afraid of too many teams, which is fun. It's way more fun to watch for us. 7:41 I'm, I'm honestly impressed by where Palace is at after losing Oliver Glasner, you know, the man who won their, their first major trophy and then added two more on top of that. I've... We discussed it on the pod. 7:57 I really expected them to struggle. Um, and they still, they still might. They still, you know, they're- Mm... 8:04 they're not flying, but they look way better than I anticipated based on the changes that went through that club. You know, they lost Daniel Muñoz. They lost, obviously, Oliver Glasner. 8:17 Mateta wants out, and now he's hurt anyway. Um- And Lacazette wasn't on Palace at the moment? They lost Lacazette. Uh, he's not... You know, obviously he's now at Chelsea, but- Mm-hmm... 8:29 [smacks lips] they brought in Strand Larsen, who I, I wouldn't say is, you know, prolific by any stretch of the imagination. But he's a grafter, he's a worker. He was a big worker in that game, though. 8:39 Yeah, he- He was... He, he gave you... I think they gave him like, he gave him like 75 minutes, and that dude was... He deserved a shower after that. 8:46 He was, he was up and down the pitch, going after every ball, a lot of hold-up play, looking good. Yeah, he's a hard worker. He, you know, he'll... 8:54 He puts himself about, and he doesn't elbow people in the jaw like, uh, our friend Liam Delap. 8:59 But for me, they're very similar players in that capacity of, like, they're not the prettiest, they're not the fastest, they're not the most skillful, but they're gonna, they're gonna fight for every single inch on the field. 9:15 Um, [laughs] but yeah, it's a good game, generally speaking. Um, good for Ipswich to get, you know, get the away win. And 9:28 I guess we'll see, uh, come, you know, come the international break after, after next week. But I think Palace will be all right. 9:37 I'm not too, you know, I'm not too worried about their manager losing his, uh, losing his position just yet. [laughs] Game number two, uh, decidedly more entertainment. 9:52 Um, at least more to talk about just by the sheer, you know... [laughs] Actually, same number of goals, just spread across one team instead of two. Brighton five, poor, poor Coventry nil. Another red card. 10:07 Surprise, surprise. Yeah, I mean- Uh, five, five goals and a red card. Um, Taiwo Awoniyi, Awoniyi. I will never say that one right. Um- Yeah, he caught him-... 10:19 he got himself, got himself sent off for just the absolute, like, stupidest violent conduct- Yeah, yeah, yeah... I think I've ever seen. 10:28 Uh, he- It, it, it was one of those things where he wasn't looking, but he knew he was gonna catch something the way he threw that elbow. That's it. Like, he knew something was gonna get caught. You know what I mean? 10:38 He was looking. And, but, but I mean- When he went to haul- Wait, wait, he, he was looking... he wasn't... Yo. Yeah. He, he was gonna, he was gonna barge him. 10:46 Lost track of where De Kuyper was, so by the time he looked down and saw that De Kuyper was a, a foot further away than he expected, he had to then throw his arm out to, to contact him. It's like you're al- 10:58 mate, you're always gonna get s- sent off for that. I don't... Him standing there like, "Me?" I... Dude, he- There's like- You knew you were gonna catch something... showing his shoulder, like, yeah, your shoulder. Yeah. 11:09 Yeah. And then the arm, my friend. Like what? [laughs] He, he, he knew he was catching something. He's full of it. But anyway. [laughs] It was hilarious. A lot of, a lot of acting. A lot of acting, man. 11:17 A lot of acting this weekend, man. Yeah, man. I, I don't think that made much of a difference, uh, in the game. Coventry, m- I mean, what? A couple of good attacks. Yeah. 11:26 Maybe the, in the beginning of the first half there. After, like, the first 15 minutes when they're getting overrun. And yeah, they took that early. They still did it. 11:35 No, no, I respect, like, that, that guy Rudoni was playing really good from what I saw. He was, he was trying to hold the team together. Yeah. You know? 11:41 Rudoni brought two saves out, like, two really good saves out- Yeah... of Verbruggen. Yeah. The header. Um, uh- Right... I think Rudoni crosses it, um, and Verbruggen has to come back to his right and, and- Mm-hmm... 11:53 um, and knock it away. Exactly what Pickford was unable to do- Yeah... uh, Sean- Yeah... which you, you dug him out for. [laughs] Mm-hmm. Um, but yeah, Verbruggen gets a great hand to it. 12:02 Made probably three saves while it was still nil-nil, so, like- Yeah... the game was in the balance. Coulda gone any way. And then- Uh, Kastulus basically forced into being the only 12:16 striker Brighton has, 'cause they sold Danny Welbeck, so they've got this 20-year-old Greek kid, Kastulus, um- That was excellent. That was excellent, by the way... that, uh, the touch- 12:26 The, the head forward, like, the head the ball forward and go- Yeah... after the ball... it was, it was Bergkampian, like the way he, the way he, like, volleyed it forward to himself- Yeah... 12:35 and then just stepped up and absolutely stonked it in the side netting. Like, great goal. Uh, I like the- Yeah... I like the cut of this kid's jib. I think he's gonna be a good striker. 12:45 Um, which of course means Brighton will be cashing in for, like, 92 times what they spent on him. [laughs] Mm-hmm. [laughs] I, I don't know why you talk about Brighton worried about a striker. 'Cause that's what they do. 12:56 They make their money, but- They... Brighton's got a guy at the back who apparently could knock 'em in from anywhere. He just hasn't been doing it his whole career, and just broke that one out on us. 13:02 That was awesome, too. I am still not, I am still not convinced that he wasn't trying to chip that in over the line and just mishit it [laughs] into the top corner. 'Cause if he could- You ever think of that?... 13:10 if he's got that in his bag and he just pulled it out now- Uh-... where you been? I, I like stuff like that, 'cause that's a one club man. That's from his childhood. [laughs] That's all he knows is that club. 13:20 So it was good for him, you know what I mean? It's, it's literally all he knows. That's it. [laughs] So I give him mad respect. He has nothing else between those ears but, but Brighton those years. 13:27 Oh, for the podcast friends, this is Lewis Dunk we're talking about, by the way- [laughs]... podcast friends. Just in case you don't know who we're talking about. 13:34 I think when it came off his foot, he thought he hit it all the way back to Brighton from Falmer. [laughs] And then it knuckled enough to, to come in. I think that was more his surprise. 13:45 Not that he was like, "Oh, shit, I can't believe I hit that." I think he, I think he thought he put that 600 rows back. Um- Let's not forget the old man on the second goal for Brighton, all right? 13:57 [laughs] Let's not forget the old man's goal. Yeah, he's doing it. He's doing it. What's that dude's name? [laughs] Yaku- Yakulio. What's his name? Yakuye? Yak- Yakuye? [laughs] Yeah, Yaku- Yakuye. The old man, man. 14:08 He like... That was a great goal, too. Everyone's favorite octogenarian. [laughs] The dude is, the dude is nice, though, but, like- No, dude, that was a great goal. Yeah. Great pass, great goal. 14:21 Turned over, fed into him, and he sort of just, like, dummied- Yeah... you know, come, came back onto his right foot and just la- lashed it. But- And I, I was just yelling, "The old man." [laughs] It's just an... 14:31 Like, I don't know where Brighton keeps doing this. Where, where do they find this fella? They probably bought him for, I don't know, 12 million pounds. 14:38 And you know, you know Spurs is already lining up a 90 million pound bid for this kid. [laughs] Like, like it's just- Mm. Mm... it's, it's crazy how good Brighton are 14:53 at talent acquisition on, not only on the playing side, but on the behind the scene side, too. Because you have to remember, Chelsea took all of their talent scouts. 15:03 Like, the entire talent acquisition apparatus is now at Chelsea- Mm... for the last three seasons. And Brighton's just like, "No problem." Yeah. 15:14 [laughs] I think going forward, if you're doing any, any deals with Brighton... This was, like, back in the day when you'd, like, teams just kind of stopped trading with the Patriots in, in the NFL. 15:26 And there's a couple teams, like, there's a couple basketball teams now that do it, like the Heat, basically, where, like, if they are making a deal with you, you, you're on the losing end. 15:35 Just don't, don't do anything with them. Like, "Oh, hey, we wanna, we wanna sell you this player, uh, for this amount. Is that good? Should we do that?" 15:42 Or they, if they come to, like, a smaller club, "Hey, we'd like to buy this guy," don't, don't let them do it anymore. [laughs] 'Cause they, they're always right, and you're always gonna be wrong. 15:50 [laughs] And you're gonna go end up looking like crap in the deal. So yeah, don't deal with Brighton anymore. [laughs] It's not even... Like, Brighton's play- 15:59 No, I would, I would, I would, I would say yes, but yes, and on that. It's like, don't deal with Brighton if you are selling them someone no one else has ever heard of. Yeah. Mm. 16:09 If they come calling you about a, about a guy- Or everyone else-... take, take a second look at him. If, if Brighton comes to your club and says, "We want, 16:18 you know, John Champion Schmo for, you know, eight million," you immediately call Chelsea and you say, "Hey, Brighton wants this guy for eight million." [laughs] "I'll sell him to you for 20 now." 16:27 [laughs] And they'll sell him. "And I'll save you 6-" There it is. [laughs] There's the... There you go. Because- Brilliant maneuver. That's... Outflank them. They are going to... That's h- that's how it's gonna happen. 16:35 They are going to sell that person for twen- for two, three, four times what they paid for him. You know, so, like, get the best of the deal. 16:41 I think of the people they've sold, the only one that I can really think of that, like, didn't work out was Yves Bissouma to Tottenham. Um, and that's largely because he was injured and Tottenham's a fucking mess. 16:54 [laughs] Um, but, like, you look at Mac Allister, you look at Caicedo, uh, Bilica to United still to be seen, but that looks like it's g- Like, he looks nailed on to succeed there. 17:08 Like, it's exactly the position that they need. Mm. He's the, he's the player that they, that they desperately need. Um, 17:16 they just, they make their money, and they just find somebody else who do- does the job even better than the last guy. 17:24 Um, they lost Potter to Chelsea, obviously, 'cause m- most of these people go to Chelsea, and they're just like, "Cool. We'll just get De Zerbi. He'll take us to Europe. No big deal." They- Mm-hmm... 17:34 they, they fired De Zerbi because he's a psychopath. And they're like, "Oh, we'll just get Fabian Hürzler," some guy you've never heard of who took St. 17:40 Pauli from the second division into the Bundesliga be- without playing with a midfield. He plays with, like, three defenders and nine strikers. He's just like- [laughs]... "Whatever, man. Who gives a shit?" 17:51 Um, I, I just don't know how they do it. Uh, they- they're just... I would like to study them. If I had a more intellectual mind, I would do, like, a thesis study into how Brighton succeed. 18:08 Like, w- their, their data modeling, their, like, acquisition is just It's absolutely crazy. Um, and I don't know if Tony Bloom puts that into his, like, his betting apps that he's created. Uh, 18:24 but if he does, I'm betting with him because [laughs] he, he does not lose. He simply doesn't lose. Yeah, we should be tracking his picks. All right. Well, now, now let's talk about Coventry. 18:34 What does Super Frank do now? It's, it's tough, man. I think he's got enough... I was... I said this, um, I don't know, yesterday to you guys. I think he's got enough funds in the bank, uh, 18:49 that he l- that he's not gonna get fired this week. Um, I don't think Coventry honestly expected to stay up, to be perfectly fair. 18:58 I think they might have been hoping, but I, I wouldn't think they expected to stay up, so. Mm. I think he'll be fine for now. A lot of it will depend on what happens next week. Before- Yeah, he's gonna start-... 19:11 the break. They gotta start with, they can't be get- Yeah. Can't be getting your doors blown off every, every game. Like, you lose one-nothing, two-nothing to Premier League teams, man, you're Coventry. We get it. 19:21 They, they probably didn't think they were staying up. You can't be an embarrassment. You know, you can't be Derby County. Mm-hmm. 19:27 You can't be that Wolverhampton season that, you know, where they were garbage for like 12 straight games. Uh, you know, but you- Mm. 19:34 And, uh, Kevin, you actually texted this to me, so I'll give you full credit for this idea, 'cause I thought it was brilliant. Super Frank, I, I... 19:41 'cause I started with, I said, "I don't think he's got the stones for as a Prem manager." 19:45 Something, every time he keeps coming up, it's like this is the same thing happening, and then he goes down to the championship and wins the whole damn thing. Oh, yeah. [laughs] Kevin's like, "He should just-" Sure. 19:55 "He should just change manager." Yeah. Every, every time he gets a team to the Prem- That was funny... immediately retire and pick another team in the Prem. Uh, in the Championship. I forgot you said that. 20:03 Just make your- That's funny. That is funny... make your living out of- Would Rex would take him right now? Rex would be like, "Yo, Frank, come on, let's go. Get us up there." 20:09 [laughs] Make your living as, as a championship manager. Promoter. I will get you promoted. Be, um, be the Pat Riley of, of the championship. Just take a team, get them to the final, and move on. 20:24 And then move to the next one. Like, yeah, I... He, at this point, he does not have it as a Premier League manager. I don't know why. 20:33 You know, obviously he did, he did okay with Chelsea in that first season, and I think largely that was because he had the transfer ban, he had to play the kids. It, it almost felt like an underdog, like, 20:45 championship level, like, season, where they're just like, it was a free hit. 20:49 But once the pressure's on, I don't know if he just reverts to, like, the Wayne Gretzky school of, of coaching, which is like, "Why can't you do that?" Yeah. "Why aren't you as good as me?" That's what I was thinking. 21:01 I was thinking he might have the problem where he's too good and you don't understand why, "Well, why can't you do that as a midfielder?" It's like, I don't know, man, 'cause you're one of the best to ever play it. 21:08 Like, you can't just say, like, "Hey, do this great thing. Like, track up and down the field and make a million, a million great passes." It's like you gotta coach the team you have. 21:16 You can't pretend that Frank Lampard's just gonna show up on your squad. Like, they don't come around all the time. Mm. There's a reason we talk, you know, there's a reason they're like, boom. Fla- you know, scarf down. 21:26 Yeah. We touch the badge. We love him till this day. But yeah, you can't just... You know, again, it's a Gretzky problem. Yeah. It's like Michael Jordan will never be a basketball coach. 21:36 It, I don't know how- You can't, you can't coach it, 'cause you don't, you don't know how you do it. You just do it. Yeah. 21:41 How does the, how does the greatest goal-scoring midfielder in Premier League history teach someone how to do what he did? Mm. Um, without just being like, "I don't know, man, just fucking do it. 21:53 Kick the ball really hard." [laughs] "And put it in the top of the net. Like, I don't know what you want from me." [laughs] You know? Like, do a, do a Lewis dunk and put it literally- [laughs]... 22:03 in the corner of the, of the net. Like, touch both the post and the crossbar at the same time. Like, why can't you do that? I can do it all day, every day. Um. Game. 22:13 'Cause this is that, this is what's important for- Ooh, he's Coventry manager next year... if, if, if he's gonna keep his job. Like, you, again, going into a break, it's a three-week international break, right? 22:21 We got a long, nice, like a real long one this time. At, that's just too much time for everyone to get angry, and there's also, 22:29 if you're the ownership, you're going, "All right, we got three weeks now where we can get a new voice in." That's plenty of time to kinda get the, you know, everyone settled and figure out a new plan. 22:39 So if he, if he gets whooped in this next game, I don't think he survives. They've got a winnable one, at least on current form. Who do they have the next, next Premier League game? 22:50 Uh, I mean, though, to be fair, if they can beat Villa in the Cup, that's, um- If, yeah, you can win. Yeah, if you can do a, get through in a Cup, that- That's huge too... that's feather in the cap a little bit. 22:57 That'll help you. Although beating Unai Emery in any cup competition- Cup is, yeah. [laughs] It's, it's wild That's generally difficult. That, that man- Generally difficult... is made for knockout tournaments. 23:08 Uh, they have Forest away before the break. Uh- All right. But if they can g- if they can go to the city ground and they can get, get a point, even if it's nil-nil, even if they don't score their first goal. 23:23 If they can walk away with a solid nil-nil, I think, I think Lampard will be fine through the break, probably through then December. If, if they get their doors blown off again, 23:35 I, I don't think he's gonna survive the, the break, just 'cause, as you said, they can't go a whole season getting embarrassed. Again, I don't think they would expect to stay up. Um, 23:46 but they don't wanna be the worst team ever. No- nobody, nobody wants that, that record. Yeah. Yeah. No, yeah, no one wants that. Yeah, so point, if he, if he gets a point- And Lyon... they're fun. 23:59 Like, they're a fun attacking team. Fun to watch. Their goalie bailed them out a couple times. They're very Chelsea-y in that respect. [laughs] They, they are. They- Um- They'd love to be like each other. Geez. 24:07 They, Chelsea's like, "Let's be like Frank." They can't seem to do very well. Their goalkeeper is prone to mistakes. Um- [laughs] But also prone to making fantastic saves and keeping you in the game. 24:19 And they'll blow a team away 5-1, and maybe they'll blow, maybe next game they'll- They'll win 5-4 because they're just like, "We'll score more than you. We... That's fine." 24:28 [laughs] Well, well, I, one thing I do love, though, is just, uh, so many different guys scored. It wasn't like somebody got a hat trick. Just everybody got in on the, on it. 24:35 When the captain's ki- shooting a shot from where he shot it from. [laughs] That was amazing... you know, I love that kind of stuff. That's still amazing. [laughs] You know what I mean? 24:43 It's j- I love that kind of stuff... great, 'cause I'm, I'm, I like Brighton's outlook. They're gonna be, you know, competitive. Yeah, I like, they, they were very entertaining to watch. 24:50 That was very entertaining to watch. Well, I, I'm s- nothing for me has changed in the first four games. I still think they're gonna challenge for the big seat at Europe. They're gonna be at the big table. 25:02 They might not get there, all the way to the Champions League, but I think they're, they look great for at least the Europa League. Um, which they might get by winning the Conference League anyway, so who knows? 25:14 Uh, but they're a fun team. Uh, the things that are way less, um, shitty and child sex abusey, uh, [laughs] Man United, Man City. Dex, Dex, Dex, Dex. [laughs] What the hell. 25:30 Um, last week I said, last week I said there's no fan that would accept g- giving up a draw in the stoppage time. Now I gotta say there's no fan that could, will accept 25:45 l- let's a 10, a, a, a man, a team with a man down beat you like that. Now, yes, it can happen, we know, but not to Manchester United. Not like that. You know what I mean? Not like that. 25:56 The game was so much more competitive when Foden was on the pitch. I kind of got upset that he got a red card because w- if we win, I don't want it to be like, "Oh, you guys won because they were a man down." 26:08 I didn't want that. I want a real fair game, you know? And l- let's get to that right off the... I just hate acting. Um, you, you get, you get pushed in the stomach by, with his feet. 26:20 You fall down like you're ri- like you're, you're, you're not gonna play the rest of the game. Um, shout out my man Sean Swift. He's the one of our three listeners. [laughs] He texted me. We were talking. 26:30 He said, he reminded me the fact that it's the reaction that's gonna get the red card. It's the reaction. That hit the dibs. He was ref also for every game And the first thing I thought about was Beckham and Simeone. 26:39 First thing I thought about. Yeah, that was the first thing I thought about was Beckham and Simeone in the World Cup. That- Yep... it was super like Simeone falls down, he gets a red card. You know? 26:48 You can't retaliate 'cause- You cannot retaliate. But, but it was some, for lack of a better phrase, it was some sucker shit that F- F- Ver- Bruno did. It was some sucker stuff. That was- You know what I mean? Yeah. 27:00 You kick the dude in the back. Now you're kicking wild at him. Like, you're kicking for the ball like, like you're just... What, what, what are you trying to do? You know what I mean? Um, so I felt bad about that. 27:10 I wanted, I wanted it to be 11 on 11. Once they... It's like they just turned it up a notch when they were down with one, down one man all of a sudden. 27:17 Um, we didn't have Luke Shaw, and funny enough, you know, Luke Shaw is probably our best fullback who could serve the ball on a cross, I think. You know? Yeah. Put Dorgu in his spot. 27:28 Are you sh- are you shocked that Luke Shaw was injured, though? Like- No, I wasn't shocked. [laughs] See, that was the thing. When, when I saw he was hurt, I texted the group. I was like, "Did they just say he was hurt?" 27:38 [laughs] That's why I'm sitting in the stands like, "Did they just say he was hurt?" I didn't hear the 11. He was hurt. It's a shame. The fact that Luke Shaw- Yeah, I know, right... 27:47 played, like, nine games in a row, I was like, "Shit, that's gotta be-" It, it was a shame because Luke, actually, when you watch him, he is the best server f- from his position. You know? 27:57 As I said, I said last week, like, I, I used to, like, clown him wa- or clown, like, United fans when they're like, "Oh, Luke Shaw's the best left back in the league." I'm like, [laughs] "Well, how, how can you say that? 28:07 He never plays." Yeah. And then you watch him play and you're like, "Oh, okay. This, this kid is 32 years old now." Right. That's why he, he, he survived so long. He's legit. Uh- But- Yeah, that's why he survived. 28:18 Even though he- He's-... he's not the, as fast anymore and all that, he, that's why he survived... yeah, but he's been doing that... and he could always stay healthy. Wasn't his problem. 28:24 Um- Being fast wasn't what he needed to be. Like- Nah, nah, but he could serve the ball. He, you know what I mean? Uh, th- we had some great moments. I mean, it just didn't do anything. Mainoo hits the post. 28:33 Uh, who else hit the post? [laughs] S- uh, somebody else hit the post. Um- Noam Buemo missed a, missed a header. Felt like it was, like, a deflected cross. Yeah, yeah. He, he, and he just- Yeah. There, there was-... 28:44 put it wide. You had chances. Yeah. Just some moments- They easily had chances. Yeah. They had the chances, and th- they're down a man. We gotta jump all over these guys. I, I keep on thinking about us, right? 28:55 Especially on the goal that Haaland scored. We'll get to the, the controversy in a second. 28:58 [laughs] But if it was us three, if it was us three and it w- they were down a man, I'd be like, "Sean, whoever's sees Haaland, we on his ass." Yeah. [laughs] Yeah. "That's it. I don't care. He's not... 29:09 W- We lock him down now because they ain't got an extra guy. We the, whoever is near him, stay on him." You know? Because, I mean- Say what- Yeah... 29:17 you can say what you want about Ernen- or, uh, Fernandez distracting Lisha Martinez. You still have Martinez covering two people, and you have a man extra. Dude. Yeah. That's, that was the problem. 29:29 He was wide open behind him... why is he covering two guys? Yeah. The one guy- He was-... who's there is like, "Hey, who should we leave wide open?" 29:35 Uh, the guy who scored eight goals in seven games- A- and, and that's my thing... against us now it's- My, my whole point is-... now it's nine in eight... yeah, that's, see, that's my point. 29:43 I'm not gonna even argue the whole Enzo doing that nonsense. The, he's wide open. The, this guy who scored in nine derbies, derbies, you know what I mean? 29:52 I think nine goals in, in, like, I don't know how many derbies he's played in so far. Hey, he scored nine in eight. You leave him wide open? You know what I mean? That's- There's- Yeah. Yeah. 30:02 I mean, the only problem they had was- That Norwegian nightmare. Yeah. [laughs] He's... All right... Dala, Dala was getting, like, fire roasted by Semenyo all game. Like, he, I was like, almost go one on one- Yeah... 30:13 with Haaland. Yeah. Put the second guy over there. Like, Dala was- And, you know, and you know what's so funny? Um, you know, the, the f- the buildup to that goal was this, too. The ball gets served to Haaland. 30:23 He does some fancy side flicker. Doesn't work And Dorgu just heads the ball right back to them. Yes. Like, literally right back. And you can see Dorgu raise his hands like, "Ah." [laughs] Like, for a second you see... 30:37 You, you, you could... If you watch it, he's like, "Ah." And then, then Semenyo gets the ball, Gvardiol gets the ball, and we get that goal. Which, you- You know what I mean? 30:45 You want, you wanna pull Dorgu aside and be like, "What are you surprised about, man? You know who you are." Yeah. "You know your ability." 30:51 If he slammed that ball forward, just kick it out of the way, that would've been fine. He headed the ball- It's-... right into them. Right. Sometimes you just need- And then you could see his reaction... 31:00 sometimes you need to just put it as far away from your own goal as possible. That's all you have to do. Sometimes, we don't have to be fancy. 31:05 If you're a man down a man, there are, there are times where you just don't play cute with it and you just get it the fuck out. And, and this will be- We, this is not Brazil 2002. You know what I'm saying? 31:16 Kick the ball out of there. [laughs] No fancy moves, don't head the ball. Kick it out of there. Yeah, so obviously the goal shouldn't have stood. Well, we're all agreeing. No. No. No. No, it shouldn't have stood. Yeah. 31:27 This goal, he wasn't in the play. I, I do wanna submit a point of if you're, if you're Lisandro Martinez, you know, you, you can look across, you can see that you're the last defender. 31:37 You can see that you're in line, po- possibly behind Dorgu. Not, you, you really can't judge where his foot is. You can see Enzo Fernandez in front of you. You can see that he is between you and the goal. 31:50 You can- Ignoring him... you know he's offside. Oh, we're reconnecting. Did I disconnect? Don't go to him. Mark Haaland, because if he scores, it's going to be offside. 31:59 Just l- like, you just, you have to know contextually in the game of football, that dude's offside and I'm gonna mark this guy. Like, you just, like, you just- That's it... have to be able to tell that. 32:12 And I know- Yeah... in the, in the moment, and like, I've never played at that level. I've never played with, like- Yeah... ARs regularly, like, who are good at calling offside. 32:22 If that were me, shitty over 30 league guy, yeah- Mm-hmm... I'm gonna go to the guy who's closer to the ball. Yeah. 32:27 But Lisandro, Lisandro Martinez needs to recognize that he's offside, and go to H- and if he goes to Haaland, 32:35 he's between Haaland and the ball, and he probably hooks that over his own, own goal and, um, and it's out for a corner kick, and then they have to deal with that. Like- Mm. 32:44 Again, and I don't necessarily wanna kill the guy because, like I said, I would've made the same decision. As- I would've made the same thing, too. 32:50 I, I- As a world-class center-back who's on a, a World Cup winner- Mm-hmm... from the position he was standing in, 32:59 he should be able to identify that Enzo Fernandez is definitely going to be offside if he touches the ball. I don't need to worry about him. That's not the danger. 33:08 And, and see, the pro- but- The danger- Yeah, but, but-... is the guy behind me... but the problem is who's over there watching this happen and is not saying, "Look, let me just get on Haaland," you know what I mean? 33:17 Like, there's... I don't know what happened over there. I mean, the, the close- Where was your left, where was your left back? Like- That, that, that's what I'm saying. 33:23 The closest thing, person there, was Mainoo, but he was, like, in the middle, like, of the... He wasn't, like, off to the side. He was literally standing, watching everything from the middle. But he couldn't do it. 33:33 Who was over there? Um- It was such a weird setup that it looked like Gvardiol was taking a free kick. It just, it was really bizarre. Like, everyone was in a line, everyone sort of, like, disjointed. Like- Mm... 33:44 I don't know what happened to your, to your defensive st- shape, um- Mm... in that, in that moment, to leave Martinez all alone at the back post with two of the most dangerous players in the game. I don't know, man. 33:58 I don't know. Like, that's just- I mean- That's crazy... let's also give fair credit. The finish, the finish from Haaland was wild. I mean, that's a tough ball coming across. Yeah. 34:06 He volleys that str- I mean, right through the goalie's hands and at his face as he's falling down. Mm. You know, whether, whether it was gonna count or not- Yeah... that's still- Took a deflection... 34:15 that's still a world-class finish... it took a deflection. He's gonna see it come through two players. It's gonna, like... Is that gonna get past Enzo's head? Is Martinez gonna get it? 34:23 Is the keeper possibly gonna get it? He basically has to- Mm... identify if all three of those people miss it, the ball's gonna end up here, and I'm gonna put my foot there before- Mm... 34:34 the ball makes it through all three players. 'Cause if he waits to see if it gets there, it's past him and he misses it. 34:40 He basically has to do some quick geometry of, like, "Where is this ball gonna land if, if it gets to me?" And, you know, and he, he nailed it, so. Yeah. Great goal. Great goal. 34:53 It was very, it was very- It wasn't illegal... he, he's a Norwegian nightmare, all right? That's what I call him now. [laughs] A Norwegian nightmare. 34:59 Um, and you know, look- He's such a, he's such a lovely addition to the sport, though. Like, he's so funny. He, yeah, yeah. Look, man, especially after the World Cup, everybody likes him, man. He's cool, man. 35:10 The fact that he scores goals for fun is, is just... You know, um, yeah, so it was just a poor... 35:17 Uh, it's just as sad to see this happen that, you know, every week we got some other weird thing going on, whether it's this, the weird goal call- Yeah... the handball another week, giving up... 35:27 Uh, and, and then we gotta ask questions about, all right, why isn't Sesko starting? Especially in this type of game, when now they're down a man, let's put him out there early and let him go to work. 35:36 Let the big man do some stuff out there. Um- That's what, that's what I was gonna ask you. Like, you're up a man. L- like, what, like, when would you have brought Sesko on? They're packing six along- Mm-hmm... the 18. 35:50 You're not gonna get through playing ticky-tack acute football between- No... Cunha and Mainoo and- Yeah, yeah... you know, Bruno. Like, 36:00 they're giving you the, the outsides of the pitch, and that's all they're giving you. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. What was Michael Carrick thinking? Why not bring on Sesko at, I don't know, 55 minutes into the game? 36:10 I, I- Give him, give him- Halftime. I would've, I would've brought him halftime. It, we would've been right on. Just- Like, forget this... yeah. 36:16 And, and it's, it's- Enzo Maresca with all of his, um, prior experience playing, uh, with 10 men just, like, he just packed in the defense- [laughs]... and s- and said, "We'll make them beat us on the outside." And- 36:31 They couldn't, uh, and- The, uh, yeah, the, the s- I think that's all Michael Carrick... and all, all the long, like, listen, all the long ball effort. That long from f- from afar was working, you know? 36:40 And Lisa- Licha had a great l- long ball late in the game to Sesko. He's a great passer. He d- I mean, I have to say that. 36:47 He is a great pa- even the World Cup, I said it before, great passer from his position, from a center back position. Um, but [tsks] we, we can't do nothing, man, you know? Um- Do you think-... right now... 36:59 are you worried about Michael Carrick? Are you worried about his position? I, I'm not worried about his position, but, but the, the thing is, um, you know how this league is, right? 37:09 If you can't get points now, everybody's... Y- y- it, it just, you're gonna fall, you're gonna fall too far behind, you know? 37:15 And already, one thing, at least I, I made up my mind that w- I just want us to finish in the top three. That was it, you know? But now, I'm, you know, you start to get worried because you got Champions League. 37:26 Yeah, you're like, top three. [laughs] Yeah, yeah, I know. W- you know, we got Champions League, so we got, we gotta work in there. We playing Brighton, uh, this week in the Carabao Cup, you know what I mean? 37:34 Who's playing, who's starting there? All these games now that w- I thought we were deep. Now I'm worried about, you know what I mean? But you, uh, yeah, your depth is, is basically as deep as a paper plate. 37:46 You don't have backups for... Nobody who can back up Fernandes. He's gotta play every game. Yeah. You've now proven that basically Kobbie Mainoo is your only functional- He's, he's also-... 37:56 midfield because Andre Santos, I don't know I don't know. Maybe Andre Santos- He's 16?... will play. And what about Baleba? I'm still waiting for Baleba to come out and play. 38:05 Supposedly he's healthy or, or should be healthy now, but, like- Mm-hmm... did you see Baleba last season? And maybe it was because his head was turned, and he didn't get his move to Man United that he wanted. Mm. 38:16 And maybe you'll see the Baleba from the season prior. Mm. But he, I don't think he completed 90 minutes once last year. He got yoinked at halftime, like, six times because he was just absolutely terrifyingly bad. 38:32 Um, so, like, who know? Like, w- what's the, what's the right Baleba? Like, is, is last year's Baleba the real Baleba, and the year before was, you know, contract year, uh, hi- his walk year? Or 38:49 is last year the anomaly, and, and then he goes back to being that player who, you know, people are saying, "Oh, he's better than Declan Rice." Like, I, he's not. He's not better than either of those two players. 38:58 I don't know who you, who that player is right now, so, like, you can... [sighs] I see all the, like, United fans, like, hanging their hats, like, "Baleba will be back. Baleba. We ha- we still don't have Baleba in. 39:08 We still don't have Baleba." I, I don't know that you can just immediately, like, assume he's gonna come in and fix your problems. I, I, I don't think that at all. I don't know about that at all. So- All I know is this. 39:19 When, when the game ends with we have, like, 55% pos- possession to their 45% posses- possession and it's 10 men, that's not good, man. At Old Trafford. That's at home. Yeah. That is not good. 39:32 The theater of dreams, and- That's just not good... and you're barely over half. Like, that's- You know? That's not good. Um, so- But also, like, uh, last point is, like, fuck you, Enzo Maresca. 39:45 Why couldn't you have done this with Chelsea? [laughs] Like, who, who are you? This is his dream job, man. Who are you? This is his dream job. Erling Haaland. 39:52 Erling Haaland is why he couldn't do this- Yeah, that's fair... at Chelsea. [laughs] You could play that way- This is his dream job, man... but guess what? Yeah, but Chelsea, Chelsea versus Liverpool. 39:58 They're still terrified of losing this game against us because we have a monster who threatened, like, three or four times to dribble through, like, three guys at the front. Like, he's always a danger. 40:08 He's a danger man at all times. You can survive. You know, you can survive a lot of these games that you normally wouldn't win because you got this guy, and that's the difference. Mm. Yeah, best thing, yeah. 40:21 Yeah, you only need to create one chance with Haaland, uh, 'cause one chance, one goal, he, and- They, uh-... you win the game... I was listening to the, the broadcast early on. They were doing a thing. They were like... 40:31 I think it was, like, 12 minutes in or 13 minutes in, and the graphic came up. Graham was also talking about how- Like, zero touch, yeah... Haaland needs to touch the ball more, like... zero touches. 40:37 And I was like, "No, he doesn't, man. They did the stat in the World Cup." No, all he needs is one. [laughs] He scored every 13 touches. He scored every 13 touches in the World Cup. He doesn't need the ball. 40:45 When it gets to him, don't worry, he's gonna put it away. He'll get it. Like, he's gonna beat you guys. He's not that strike depth. 40:51 [laughs] Especially, the, a- a- and if you saw that Brazil game, too, 'cause he was just chilling the whole game. At, yeah. Until, until- And then-... the ball came to his feet. That's- You know? 40:59 And then smacked Gabriel around, like, three times. It was like- Like, you can't handle him... you would have sworn he wasn't gonna score that game. Yeah. Yeah, he's al- And then just boom, boom, boom... 41:06 he looks allergic to the ball for half of the game. [laughs] And then he's just like, "Cool." Yeah. "I am faster than you, I am stronger than you, and I can kick the ball harder than you've ever seen." Mm. 41:16 Like, he's, he's unreal. Yeah. Um, but I guess to sum it up, honestly, United shouldn't have lost that game. But to be fair, it's one point when you're up 41:30 a man in the 24th minute at home. One point versus, versus none, like, you blew that game. Yeah. Michael Carrick. Yeah. I- I mean, absolutely. Absolutely... 41:43 I think Michael Carrick will last, only because I think United's board is fucking clown shoes. [laughs] Like, they've, they did it with Solskjaer. They did it with, um, Ten Hag. 41:56 Like, they just, they seem so reluctant to move on from a manager mid-season. Like, give him time, give him time. You know, if we had, 42:07 if we had fired, you know, Alex Ferguson when, when we should have, when he was, almost had us relegated, we never would've had the rest of Alex Ferguson's years. It's like, yeah, well, that's one in a million shot. 42:18 You can't keep hanging your hat on, "What if we had fired Ferguson?" Like- Mm-hmm... Carrick ain't it, man. Uh, like, I, I've seen enough now. 42:26 The end of last season, United looked great, and I think that's largely because everybody else was fucking garbage, and- And I think Ra- and we could probably even s- guess... The people was just tired of Amorim. 42:37 They, they wasn't playing for Amorim He's looking at me. Yeah. Oh yeah, just the, the fact that Abraham was gone, they were just like, "All right, let's see- Yeah... well, now we'll play some games." Yeah. 42:47 We also need to talk about, like, spare a thought for Mason Mount. Oh, yeah. Tell me about it. Yeah. The forgotten man. Yeah, man. I don't, I don't think everyone... He hasn't- Does he still play?... 42:58 started, he hasn't started- He started. He's there, he's there... more than three games in a row for United in his United career, and this is his third, fourth season. And he's not- Wow... 43:08 started more than three games in a row once. Yeah, yeah. He, he deserves a shot too. Um, I don't know. First of all, I just would love to see Sesko start. Probably take Cunha off, man. Take him off. 43:19 Let him rest for a little. Let him come off the bench. If, if Sesko's not injured, y- he's gotta start the next game. And I've heard the mental approach- A- a- absolutely... 43:27 that maybe he's deal- Put the big man out there. Let this kid do something. 43:30 Yeah, but if they're saying like, "Oh, well he might be dealing with something," and they wanna play him the whole game, it's like, then sit him down for a week and get him healthy. 43:36 Like, don't give me this he's a 15-minute- Yeah... 20-minute player. Like, no, no, no. Like, the dude's, like, what? 23? Like young, he's young. Yes. Get healthy. He's a young man. 43:46 You can play, get healthy and play the whole game. That's easy. And, like, take Cunha off. Let, yeah, let put Cunha on the bench. Let him come in. Yeah, take him. Honestly, I would say you, you don't take Cunha off. 43:55 You put, you bring Cunha further back into the structure. And you- I, he's-... basically play him, like, off Fernandez, so you have those- He's basically doing that now, to me Right. He's already doing that now. 44:06 The problem is you don't have anybody above him. Like, when he was playing- Yeah, there's no one in front anymore... before with, like, a Marcus Rashford 44:11 or Raphael Varane, like, in front of him, he had another striker to play off of. 44:14 He, like, he was doing sort of that João Pedro role where Pedro, like, drops deep and collects the ball, and can turn and, and, and play it out. 44:23 When Pedro was at Brighton with Glenn Murray, like, they were playing that dynamic. And I think Cunha does that better than he, than he plays this weird false nine role. I think recently- Yeah, I don't... 44:33 Yeah, yeah, he, to me, he's a great passer from that position. That's all he is, is he's, he's got- But who's he, but who's he passing the ball to? 44:39 If he- It's Bruno and, and Bruno's the only person I see him give it to... the, yeah, the only thing he can do is, is filter it out to the wings, and you have Rashford and Mwemo. 44:49 And they're like, "Okay, now you go and score." Yeah. And invariably, what you have is Rashford puts in a fucking hell of a cross to the back post. Yeah. Crazy dipping cross, but there's nobody near it. 45:00 That's why w- w- put, that's why it'd be great to have Sesko there. Yeah, because there's nobody there, so. I would, I would, if I were Michael Carrick, I would try to figure out 45:11 how to get Mwemo, Cunha, and Sesko in the team together. And maybe that means you have to pull out Rashford, and Cunha plays more on the left-hand side. Um- Mm. 45:23 Or you leave Tielemans out, and you let Kobbie Mainoo be the single pivot, and you play Kobbie Mainoo, um, Bruno, and Cunha sort of in, like a, like left and right-sided eights. Mm. 45:37 And then you play Mwemo on the right, um, Rashford on the left, and Sesko up top. Like, like, that's- Yeah... you gotta at least try something, because- Yeah... it's not working as it is now. 45:49 Like, Ipswich, you know, the Ipswich game notwithstanding, 'cause that was- Mm-hmm... just a wild game, and everything sort of fell in your favor. But you're not scoring goals outside of that. No. No. You know? 46:01 It's really annoying. It's annoying. But, um, we'll see. We got Fulham coming up after the Carabao Cup. Uh, so it's gonna be an interesting n- next couple of days. They're a hard, they're a hard team, man. 46:12 Uh, they- That, that's what I'm saying, you know? Obviously they took Liverpool to the wire. Yeah. Um, they didn't have a ton of chances, but Josh King created one. They, uh, Jeremy Doku ended up, 46:25 uh, saving off the line. They're gonna be tough. They're gonna be a tough out, um, for you. A- absolutely, yeah. And I would not be surprised if you don't get anything out of that game either. 46:36 And then you could see Carrick going into the, into the international break with an itchy ass. Like, just getting- Well, well, you know what-... really annoyed... 46:45 well, I, I'm g- obviously I'm gonna be positive and say we're gonna win the next two games. We'll win the Carabao Cup game, and we'll, we'll squeak something out against Fulham hopefully. 46:53 It'll be great to go into the international break by at least with those two, uh, under our belt. Wins, some kind of win in whatever category. 47:01 Before we move on to the remaining games from, from the week, just b- Dex, 'cause you mentioned the Carabao Cup, and every time I hear the Carabao Cup, I think of this. 47:10 Do you guy- did you guys watch, uh, Increasingly Poor Decisions with Todd Margaret? No, I did not. No. Well, highly recommend. 47:19 Um- [laughs] But he, he ends up working for a, um, for an energy drink company called Thunder Muscle. Uh-huh. And it just like- [laughs] That Carabao energy drink just gives me Thunder Muscle vibes. [laughs] Uh-huh. 47:33 I was like, "What the fuck?" And I was like, "It's an energy drink?" Like, th- this is- I know, me too... gonna be a thing that's never left my life. I'm like, "What?" And, but also now- Fucking what?... 47:38 it's like a beer or like, like, um- [laughs]... like hard seltzer. I'm like, "What the fuck?" [laughs] Sweet God. Which again, aligns with this Thunder Muscle thing. Like, you have to watch it. 47:48 [laughs] It's, it's- All right... uh, Chelsea 2, Hull till 2. 47:52 Uh, Chelsea continue to score within the first fi- you know, 10 minutes of the game, and continue to not know how to defend, uh, any better than my six-year-old team does. 48:03 In fact, that might be unfair to my six-year-old's team. [laughs] Uh, they should've lost this game, honestly. Uh, I think Hull had, had m- more than enough chances to put a third away. 48:16 With that said, Chelsea absolutely denied a very clear penalty. I don't know in what world a guy's arm is out like this and it hits his hand and that's- On a cross, yeah... not, 48:30 that- that's- that's- that's not a handball. Mm. Um, uh, so it could've gone either way. I don't think, I don't think Chelsea deserved to win, obviously. On balance, the point was fair. 48:45 I honestly, I'd turn that one off at halftime 'cause it was making me mad. I don't even think the point was fair. But- I think, I think Hull got robbed. I think they should've won that game, honestly. 48:52 [laughs] I, see, that's funny 'cause I thought y- you guys got too much of a strong front. There was no way they were not gonna t- draw, for me. But I think we got lucky for that. 49:01 I think because we have a, a, a strong front three that we can overcome- Uh-huh... stupid defending. But Hull were good enough to win that game, and 49:12 they will honestly, should consider themselves unlucky- unlucky not to have. Yeah, they're- They're, they're gonna be all right though... dream, dream start to the season for them. 49:21 They've played Chelsea and Man United now, right? And took four points- Yeah... out of those games. Like, that's... And, and gave up their first- And keep them running... 49:28 goals of the season to a, to a team that's scoring on everyone, so there's no shame there. They've gotta be... 49:34 They're high-fiving this, you know, they get one more game before the break, they're gonna be, they gotta be excited over there. They gotta be looking a little bit, feeling happy. 49:41 And you know what's great about them too? And what's great about them too is, again, it's, uh, one of those things where everybody's scoring. Center backs are scoring, wingers are scoring. 49:49 The striker hasn't even scored yet. [laughs] You know what I mean? I mean, they're only scoring- My doppel- Huh? My, my doppel- my doppelganger doesn't score. Sooner or later, he's gonna get one. 49:58 But I like the fact that everybody participates in getting, getting out there. I mean, Ajayi almost had a great header. Was it Ajayi on that second goal- Yeah... for them? Yeah. 50:08 So I, I don't- It's a team, it's a team game, and they are playing with all- Absolutely... 25 players. Um- And that's why I, I have to give them respect for that. They're entertaining to watch. Absolutely. Absolutely. 50:17 No bones about it, I'm a Chelsea fan, I'm pissed that we didn't win that game. But I'm happy, [laughs] honestly happy we managed a draw, because we easily could've lost that game. 50:28 And I think probably Chelsea last year loses that game. I don't think we have the character and the, the, the chutzpah to, to come back from 2-1 down and score the second goal to, to, to tie it. Um, 50:45 uh, continuing the, uh, the draw train, we had Bournemouth 2, Brentford 2. This is ki- like, this is the game that made me think of that earlier point about the sort of competition level in the Premier League. 50:58 Like, you've got Kevin Schade at Brentford. He'd probably start for every team not called PSG in, in France. Like, and no- uh, almost nobody knows his name. 51:11 Obviously, he's starting for Brentford, but he's playing for fucking Brentford. And this kid is nasty. Uh, can't stop scoring. Scores two, uh, two here, although you really gotta [laughs] 51:27 you, you really gotta give Djordje Petrovic the assist on both goals. First one just goes through his h- through his hands. Uh, second one, he passes the ball directly to Kevin Schade. 51:35 [laughs] While Jor- Djordje is, like, 10 yards out of the goal, passes it right to him, and Schade takes one touch. Not even a great touch. 51:43 Pops up pretty, you know, pretty awfully, and he just says, "Fuck it," and thwacks it. Loops it over, over Djordje, uh, i- you know, into the corner. It's late in the game there to, to break Bournemouth's hearts. 51:57 And I mean, as a, as a goalkeeper, 52:02 there's nothing worse than that moment where you're like, "Oh, I'm gonna, I'm gonna slot this ball over that guy's head between those two players who are gonna slide for it, right to my winger, who's then gonna ping it to my striker, and we're gonna score." 52:16 And you just duff it nine yards right to the [laughs] to the opposition striker. [laughs] Uh, I've been there- Yeah, it's like s-... so many times... it's like someone s- "Give me someone to pass to." 52:26 [laughs] It's like, "Give me someone to pass to?" It's like, "Hold it." "How about not that guy?" [laughs] Yeah, like I, I, I didn't really watch this one on the- So I've, I've been there... 52:34 the first day, but yeah, I'm watching the replay. It is a, this was a scrappy game. This was a lot of kicking, a lot of, you know- It was an entertaining game though. 52:42 It was entertaining, but definitely, like, these teams don't seem to like each other, kind of, uh, kind of vibe to it. Mm. Which is odd, 'cause they have no history. 52:49 Like, Brentford doesn't- Maybe they just wanna be the best B team. Like they, [laughs] like, "We want the best team that starts with a B." And, and, and they're unbeaten. It's always Brentford out there. 52:57 And, you know, the funny part is they're unbeaten. You know what I mean? Yeah. [laughs] It's crazy. Yep. That's crazy. Are you kidding me? Like, I... 53:05 [laughs] I, every time I watch Brentford, I am just the Shaquille O'Neal meme to, to Keith, uh, to Keith Andrews, like, "I'm sorry. I, I wasn't really familiar with your game." Hey, hey man. 53:17 [laughs] The dude was- I didn't... he was the set piece coach. [laughs] I don't know. And he was, they were just like, "Here. Here's the reins. Take over from our, you know, our best ever coach, Thomas Frank." 53:28 And he's like, "All right, bet." Yeah. "I'll, I'll be better." [laughs] I can't- I agree... imagine Keith Andrews is gonna be at Brentford next year, right? Like, he's proven that he's far too good for that team. 53:42 He'll probably be at Tottenham, and then he'll be fired before January. [laughs] Let's just be honest. Um, do you wanna do, [laughs] wanna just quickly talk, I mean, it was a nothing-nothing game, so. 53:54 But I mean, if you're Spurs, uh, I mean, the... Honestly, the best thing they got going is that, uh, that guy's Instagram account where his wife is making fun of him on the couch while they watch the games together. 54:04 [laughs] When she's, she says, he's like, she's like, "Oh, this time last week you were already losing." Oh, so you crap again. "That's improvement. Yeah, that's improvement. All right." 54:10 [laughs] Like that, that's the best they've got going for them. That, it is- Oh, man... they're a debacle. They're just a, they're a fucking debacle. They- They're a mess. I don't get it. They're a mess. Like, how are... 54:20 They've zero goals, 500 million pounds spent. That's all you have to say. That's a mess. Like- That's unbelievable. Just- When you're-... nothing else to say about that team... 54:28 when you're in class with Coventry goal-wise, you have a real problem. [laughs] Like, there's a real problem. And you have the audacity to say, "Oh, we should be a permanent member of the Super League." Oh my goodness. 54:42 [laughs] Like, who the fuck is you? Oh my goodness. So, yeah, I'm sorry. Are we talking about the same Tottenham that, that I'm familiar with? Yeah. Like, because this is who you've always been. 54:52 You had- I don't know, six years where you got a little full of yourself. 54:57 You got some, you got your Dele Allis, you got your Harry Kane 'Cause, yeah, you had Harry Kane, one of the best goal scorers, you know, the league's ever seen, who'd put away the one thing you need But, like, who the hell tells you to think, think that you deserve a permanent Champions League spot? 55:10 Because you- Hey, man, you gotta pay f- gotta pay for that stadium somehow. Mm-hmm. So, yeah, so- Enough said about them... Spurs-Nil, Everton-Nil. The thing is, like, they're not giving up a lot of goals. And 55:24 if you look at the underlying numbers, at some point things have to turn around. Because their XG is good, they're severely underper- performing their XG. They're not, they're not outperforming their XGA, so they're not, 55:38 they're not giving up chances and the other teams aren't scoring against them. Like, they're, they're giving up the amount of goals that they would expect to give up. They're just not scoring at the other end. Yeah. 55:48 Regression to the mean. They, you know, a few go in, they should see some wins. Football doesn't- That discounts that this is Tottenham. That, that is discounting... You feel, like, the weight on the team. 55:57 Like, this is the Red Sox in the, you know, the late 90s, early 2000s, when you just knew you were gonna lose. Like, they knew they were gonna lose. All the... Something bad was gonna happen. All the fans felt it. 56:07 There's definitely a vibe in the stadium. Like, they're just expecting bad things to happen. And you could talk all the XG you want, when it gets in your head that you can't win, you, you just stop winning. 56:17 Sometimes you just stop winning. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I mean, you have, at this point, you had Dom Solanke in the first, like, the first real chance, uh, on goal for Spurs in this game. 56:30 He, he decides, "Oh, I'm gonna, I'm gonna just hit an overhead kick." And it's like, dude, how about you just head that ball towards goal- [laughs]... and get it, like... Let, let's score the easy ones first. Like, y- 56:43 and he absolutely misses it. And then he's, like, throwing his hands up at the ref thinking he got fouled because the guy easily steps in front of him as he's trying to do an overhead kick, and heads the ball away. 56:53 And he's like, "Oh, foul." They're like, "Well, actually, you're the one playing in a dangerous manner. You nearly kicked him in the head. That would've been a foul on you." 57:01 But, like, let's just do the simple stuff first. Just, just do... Score, score, score a six, like, six-inch, like, tap in. That's what you need to do. Just, like, get an ugly one and get the momentum going. 57:16 Stop going for bicycle kicks. Let's just be honest. Like, just- Yeah... get your head on straight. And, like, from Everton's side, that was a solid game. They kinda, you know, you go there, get your point. 57:28 Especially with the number of, you know, the catastrophe that your, uh, window was, where you didn't get anybody in [laughs] you know, you were linked to a bunch of people, and no one showed up. 57:38 They don't have any- Yeah... score either. But how about those kits for Everton, though? The, like, sort of little green number with, like, the bronzey, like, uh- Did like it. Yeah... the green and gold numbers on it... 57:47 that was nice. It was tight That was fresh. Jack Grealish- Yeah. Well, the- Man bun's not working for you, pal. I think you gotta cut that down. [laughs] It's... Ooh, great save. Before on the second goal was great. 57:59 That was beautiful. Great, uh- You got Villa 1, Forest 2... I'll give... Oh, Villa 1? Okay. Shout out to Forest for that. I gotta give Forest its props for that. Go ahead. Liam Delap, first goal since January. 58:09 Yeah, yeah. Um, the, the, the second, the winner was really nice work. Danjuma knows down the side. Um, nice cross. I forget who laid it off to- Mm... uh, Igor Jesus. 58:22 But, like, a nice little sort of, like, outside of the foot touch to Jesus to, you know, to slot home in th- you know, in, at the end of the game. Good win. You're... 58:31 If it weren't for last year, I'd be really concerned about Unai Emery right now. Mm-hmm. But they started this, this poorly last year, and they ended up in the Champions League, so- Mm... think they're fine. Um- Marcus. 58:44 Forest fan, Marcus Yeah. Hey Shout out, Marcus, if you're listening. Uh, I, I, if, um, I, as... On my hackles are up a little bit for Villa, 'cause the zone... 58:52 Sometimes we get started slow, we're slow, and then there's just the time where it doesn't get going. So I would... I'm not worried- Right... 58:59 worried yet, but, uh, I, I got, I got an eye on that going, "You might wanna win a couple here." Like, let's, let's, let's sneak a couple in before- Yeah. There's always a chance you can't start it. 59:08 Be like, "Oh, wait, it really starts." I mean, look, you got- Like, "Oh, yeah. It's episode 1000."... they got Coventry next. So there's, there's a, you got Coventry. There's your chance to start it. Yeah. 59:15 So, and then we had, uh, Liverpool-Nil, Fulham-Nil. Uh, Liverpool easily could've won this game probably 4-5-1. Honestly, they were all, like, all the chances were going Liverpool's way. Fulham had one- Mm... 59:30 really nice shot, uh, that I mentioned earlier, where Jack K saves off the line. Um, you'd have to say Liverpool may be unlucky to not- Mm... have won this. But at the same token, 59:43 uh, that Isak game last week was a bit of a false dawn, because he looked pretty shit again. What is up with teams letting the smallest man on the pitch win a header? Like, bitch-fucker on him and tell him to sit down. 59:56 Like, like, a guy 5'2" shouldn't be winning... He's not Mugsy Bogues. He's not, like, just- [laughs] Spud Webb. Oh, man. Yeah. And Donnie Ariola- Donnie-... just can't, it's not working... 1:00:09 they're not, I know, but he's saying to himself, "At least we didn't lose nothing." That's what he's saying right now. Yeah, but the problem is that's fine mentality at Bournemouth. That's not acceptable- Exactly... 1:00:19 at An- Exactly... at Anfield as a Liverpool fan. No way. Absolutely not. Shout out, shout out my man, Connor. Uh, if you're listening, shout out. Yeah, Connor Bradley, if you're, if you're listening. 1:00:29 Brentford Gold was in the f- the tie came in the 55th minute, so way earlier than I thought. But yeah. Oh. It's a terrible giveaway- Wait, was it that early?... quali- yeah, I'm look- looking at it right now. 1:00:37 56th minute. But yeah, good finish. I have nice... I have to see it bounce in. But Georgie, Georgie Trent- I'm like, "Where's the goalie?" I saw, I saw the ball bounce in. 1:00:44 I'm like, "Oh, this must be an offsides or something." I'm like, "Oh, no, this is the goal we're talking about." [laughs] Yeah. It was terrible. Yeah, no, no, that's just Petrovic was just like, "Oh." Oh, God, awful. 1:00:52 Oh, God, awful. [laughs] Fuck you, Shen. I mean, I've, I've been there. I had to take that. That was- We have a Georgie reference. [laughs] But I've also not played- Oh, what are you doing... 1:00:58 for the New England Revolution, Chelsea, Strasbourg, and Bournemouth. [laughs] So there's that. Mm. Ugh. [laughs] I don't know what to tell you. Yeah. Uh, what else? 1:01:07 Uh, today's game, Leeds just absolutely stonked through Forest, 4 to 1. That surprised me What happened? You know? That, that surprised you? Leeds is- Look, I, I thought Newcastle was doing so well 1:01:18 Man, they play shit teams. Nah, I, I, I'd pick Leeds to win, but I didn't, I obviously didn't pick them for nothing to win, but... Newcastle plays shit teams. Wow. I'm still worried for Newcastle. Uh Yeah... 1:01:27 I still think they are not gonna do well. Th- I mean, I thought once they lost, uh, Guimaraes and Tonali, it'd be a whole different story. But they've been fighting- Tonali's garbage. 1:01:35 Tonali is useless I know, well, Tonali, Tonali-... he's grouping himself... you know what, Tonali needs to pick the right people around him. But to be fair to- Nah, they've been-... 1:01:42 um, to Newcastle is everyone's injured. The, Joelinton's out. Uh. Uh, I think Voltamatta is hurt. Like, they, they've got nobody right now, uh, after- Yeah, losing Bruno though... they lost Tonali, they lost Guimaraes... 1:01:52 I think losing Bruno killed them. Yeah. Guimaraes. That's- Uh, Dan Burn's still- The fact that also he-... not back 1:01:59 Yeah, the fact that, that Guimaraes was in to- he was basically in town [laughs] in Newcastle, you know, he's nearby. 1:02:04 Sunderland, against Sunderland, and he puts that worldy in to give, uh, Arsenal the lead there that game. Like, that's gotta kill you. You're like- Mm... "I could hear it from my house. Goddamn." [laughs] Yeah. 1:02:14 Yeah, and that, so that's the last one that we haven't, uh- Mm... touched on. Sunderland-nil, Arsenal-two. Um, it was a good game for m- for, you know, most of the game. 1:02:26 Sunderland giving as, as, uh, as good as they were, were getting. True. Um, easily could've been a trap game. Like, uh, Regis Lebrys is a, is a really good manager. He sets that team out really well. 1:02:40 Uh, Sunderland, where they get a draw against Arsenal last year, the Dan Ballard goal. Yeah. Um, I thought Sunderland- That was bad... was gonna get, you know, get something out of this. 1:02:49 The stadium light's a hard place to go play. When that penalty was called, um... Mm-mm. As soon as that was called, I said, "Great call," when he called the penalty. 1:03:00 And then as soon as the replay set, I went, "Oh, that's not a penalty." Uh, that's mutual holding. Dan Ballard initiates the contact by pulling Konsa in. Does Konsa then grab him? Absolutely. 1:03:13 But without Dan, Dan Ballard's actions first, Konsa's not facing the wrong way. He's not necessarily grabbing him. Although, you can probably assume he would've done it anyway because that's what Konsa does. 1:03:27 Um- And has been doing all game... but- He's been all, all [laughs]... should, ultimately should not have been a penalty. I think, um, this new higher bar that VAR is, is adhering to, which 1:03:43 crushed Chelsea, crushed Arsenal two weeks ago when, with the Ian Maatsen, um, [lip smacks] penalty that wasn't given that, uh, K- uh, KMI came out and said was the incorrect call. 1:03:54 Like, basically whatever the ref calls, they're sticking with. They are. Uh, as opposed to f- just finding a factual outcome. So they looked at it. He said, you know, "Konsa's facing the wrong way. He has his arms up." 1:04:11 Ballard, they said, "Yes, he is facing the wrong way. He does have his arms around Dan Ballard." Okay, checked and confirmed. But they need to, they need to have some balls and stand up and be like, "Yes. 1:04:23 However, did you see that Dan Ballard grabs Konsa's arm and pulls him in first and then turns Konsa, and that's why Konsa's facing the wrong way?" And I think Peter Banks would've said, "No, I didn't see that. 1:04:35 Let me go to the monitor and double-check it," and he would've cleared it. Um, with that said, 1:04:43 and I know why he's doing it, because he wants to get the next call for his team, but Mikel Arteta's crying about it is just so irksome. 1:04:52 Saying he watched it 20 times and he can't see what Konsa did, and Konsa did nothing wrong. 1:04:57 Like, I'm sorry, do you not have eyes to see that Konsa's holding Dan Ballard [laughs] with two fistfuls of his shirt around his chest? Like, you can't say you... 1:05:09 You're just being d- dishonest if you're telling me you can't see why it was given. 'Cause in the live feed- [laughs]... I s- I, I thought it was a penalty. 1:05:17 I'm like, Konsa looks like he grabs him and then tackles him down. To, so to have this, like, this, like, "Oh my God, I've never... Like, that's never a penalty in any fa- in, in any league at any level of, of football. 1:05:33 I'm so sad about it," and we just... Football's such a beautiful game, and we can't have this. Just, like, I g- They also, they won the game... you gotta stop. What are you complaining about? You won the fucking game. 1:05:43 Like, also the penalty you got, Saka goes to- I don't know why he's crying about that... control the contact inside the box. Because they, you just, you have to. And then Saka falls down in the box. 1:05:50 So let's not, let's not. Let's not start this. I do highlight go over the refs, uh, apparently- There's not even any contact... the refs are as online... Well, okay, well the- That, I'm sorry, that, the- The ref... Yeah. 1:06:01 Go ahead. That penalty also was soft as hell and was not a penalty. He doesn't actually contact Saka's legs. There are, there is a pull and a hold, but that contact stops before he crosses into the box. Like, 1:06:15 but nobody wants to talk about that. Like, you know, he doesn't wanna talk about how he's so sad- Yeah, that wasn't even a penalty... about that call. You mentioned Like, it, it's- Yeah... ridiculous. 1:06:22 And, like, I, again, I get it. I understand why he's doing it, and you do it because you wanna protect your team and make sure you get the next call. 1:06:30 But it's just so over the top, and it, it just, it's- Oh, it's aggra-... irritating... he's, he's, he's aggravating. I had seen a lot of accounts, uh, this week coming in, posting 1:06:38 all the times that Arteta is wildly out of his technical area, not getting carded. Well- So I think, I'm like- You, you, you got me... this ref is on, this ref is on the same accounts as me. You're fair. 1:06:47 He, 'cause he saw it. He was like... And then when Arteta goes to, like, give him a hug. That's where I was going. The guy was like, "What the fuck are you doing? Here's your card. Shut up." Exactly. "Give him a hug." 1:06:55 Right. He's like, "Oh, come on." That, that, that's where I was going. "It's not, it's not a big deal. It's not a big deal." And Peter Banks was like, "Don't fucking touch me." 1:07:00 [laughs] Like, "I'm not-" That, that's exactly where I was going, Sean. Exactly where I was going. Yeah. We- we're in the middle of a game. Why are you, like, what the... 'Cause he, a- again- Mm-hmm... 1:07:07 everyone saw the, the fourth official thing last week, where, like, he gives him a big hug. It's like, you just can't be doing that. Like, that's not a thing- Yeah, uh, he needs, he needs-... that you can be doing. Yeah. 1:07:17 You know? But He's just whingeing because he got, he got a card for doing some foolishness on the side, on the touchline. That's what, yeah. Like, the yellow card for being out of your touchline is- That's it, yeah... 1:07:26 out of your technical area is stupid Primarily because there's no regulations around the tactical areas. There's no regulation- [laughs]... 1:07:36 around how big it is, where it needs to be placed, how far from the pitch it can be, how far from the, the midline it can be. There's no regulation around it other than the manager must stay within it. 1:07:49 Uh, but Arteta, like- So, like, he-... he, like, he stands like he's on the field half the time. Like, he is distracting- That's, he doesn't know-... other teams, the other teams He doesn't. 1:07:56 And to quote a great skit, "He's a habitual line stepper. He is a habitual line stepper." [laughs] Fair. It doesn't, it doesn't matter 'cause he's not impacting the game because no one's listening to him. 1:08:08 His team's not listening to him- [laughs]... and the other team aren't listening to him. He's shouting into the wind for his own, eh- Edification... they all are. Guardiola did it. Everyone does. Like, 1:08:18 if, unless there's a break in play and you're, like, trying to get, you know, messages across to, like, "Do this, do that," but, like, when they're playing in full flight, you're not conducting an orchestra. 1:08:29 You're singing along to a tape, is what you're doing. Let me tell you, one, one of the best- Like, they can't hear you and they're not paying attention to you. Yeah. So just sit the fuck down. [laughs] Good point. 1:08:39 Look, one of the best, uh, I, I had to write it down. One of the best sequences was, like, in the 30th minute. It was Rice to Havertz, Calafiori back to Havertz, to Ödegaard, back to Havertz. It was like they were... 1:08:50 A- and they, he almost scored. It was beautiful movement. Yeah. I'm like, "These guys are moving now." You, you can't say much to that. That's just them knowing each other now, you know? Right. 1:09:00 Um- And, and, and Arteta's over there, like, pointing at everybody. It's like, bro, they're not looking at you. [laughs] No. [laughs] They kn- they know how to play the game. 1:09:06 [laughs] That's why they're getting paid hundreds of thousands of pounds a week. Right. Like, they know what they're doing. I mean- Uh, yeah... 1:09:13 you look at that sequence, you say, "Okay, Arsenal's, they, they still, they, they still moving like a machine," for real. They're, they are a great team. Yeah. They're, it's, yeah, more of the same. 1:09:21 More of the same as last year. They're, they're gonna be tough to beat. Who, who, who play like a good team. Yeah. They're a great team who play like a good team. Yeah. 1:09:28 And that's frustrating because they- Yeah, you see that, that, that really said to me, you know, these guys are good. And you know what? I, I mentioned this before. 1:09:35 I love the fact their, their, uh, fullbacks are the most involved fullbacks in the league, for me. These guys are in every attack in some way, you know? Um, I give them a lot of credit. 1:09:47 Calafiori's, Calafiori is really a fantastic left back. I still don't buy the Ben White thing. I know it- Uh... as soon as Timber's back, like, fully, Ben White- Yeah... will be sitting down. Mm. 1:09:57 Um, but Calafiori is a fantastic player. Oh, he's, he's, he's some s- yeah, he's, he's something else from his position Would, would love to have him, uh, on Arsenal. I, I mean, they spent all that money on Eze though. 1:10:07 He's, he can, he's- Eze can't sniff the field. What's going on? He's not gonna play. No Eze, uh- Like, I don't... I feel like they bought him solely so they could- Shut the fans up a little bit... 1:10:18 talk about how they have all this, how they have all this attacking talent. Because, like, he was never gonna play, 'cause he doesn't play Mikel Arteta's style of football. Yeah. Mm. Um, and it, it's, it's a shame. 1:10:30 Like, I feel, I feel like he got sold a bill of goods 'cause he was an Arsenal youth player. They let him go, you know, and he did that. Like, I, it feels like they signed him for the tweet. Mm. Yeah. Little bit. 1:10:43 For, like, "When I make it, they'll show this tweet." And then they kept playing that tweet, you know, like- Yeah... every other week. Give A, give AFTV something to talk about for a couple weeks. 1:10:51 Like, "We went and got Eze. We wanted him. We got him. We get the best players and now he's gonna sit on our bench." You got him because no one else wanted him. [laughs] No. 1:10:59 Not, not, I mean, not that no one else wanted him, but you got him because you weren't really in a competition with many other people at that point. And, like, yeah, he's a great player. I would have loved to have him. 1:11:10 Um, Chelsea did want him and he wasn't interested. So, like, like I'm not, I'm not just saying, like, "Yo, you got him because we didn't want him." You got him because he wanted to go to Arsenal. 1:11:23 But he's not the player you need. Like, he doesn't make your team better. Yeah. So, like, I, I have to question why you wanted him and why... 1:11:31 I, I understand why he wanted to go, but I question why you wanted him and then don't play him. Um- Yeah. Mm. But that's it for last week, other than most impressive, least impressive. 1:11:43 Uh, I'm gonna go- I'm, I'm going quick. I'm taking D-... first this week for least impressive... I'm taking Dunk 'cause, oh, you, oh, okay, you're least impressive first. All right. I don't know. 1:11:49 I said I'm gonna go first for... and then you- Okay... just do not try- [laughs] Do not try to usurp me. The, oh, look at my batter- my phone battery's dying. I just got the alert. 1:11:56 It's at 20%, so I don't know how much longer I got. [laughs] All right. We'll, we'll, we'll do this. I'll try to get my, try to- We'll bring it in... try to get my takes in before I die. 1:12:03 [laughs] Uh, least impressive is [laughs] just Gerald Hato. There's nothing else to say. Dude, you can't let a ball bounce over your head. You're a professional footballer. Oh, yeah. That was a tough one, man. 1:12:13 That was tough. The fuck are you doing, man? [laughs] That was tough. He totally looked bad on that. Uh, Dex, least impressive from the week. Least impressive. Uh, United against a 10-man team at home. Good shout. 1:12:28 Good shout. [laughs] What can I say? You know what I mean? It's kinda hard to, kinda hard to take it. Uh, I'm disappointed still. [laughs] You know me, I'm disappointed. And, uh, we gotta... 1:12:40 It'd be great to win the next two games. Just find a way to win the next two games and give everybody some kind of mental recharge. That's that. All right. That's fair. All right, Sean, hit me. 1:12:54 Least impressive, then your most impressive. All right. So I'll leave it... My, I was... It hit me 'cause I was watching. It was in the, uh, the Sunderland, uh, Arsenal game. 1:13:04 One of the Sunderland players, when he takes, like, they wanna take his long throw, I shit you not, this guy just- Uh, Kevin Danso... runs, like, runs towards the line and throws it and continues to run. 1:13:14 There's literally zero stops. So I'm least impressed with- [laughs]... the refs actually giving a shit about throw-ins. Like, g- honestly, get rid of throw-ins. Mm-hmm. 1:13:22 Just get rid of them 'cause you don't, you don't police anyone. You don't call any... Like, they called Kevin Danso- Throws and runs... like, two weeks ago because the guy was four... He, he's, he didn't stop running. 1:13:31 He did not stop running. I was wa- I was- The fact he got it so far, I'm like, "How is he doing this?" That's what I- I don't understand his technique, but I see him not stop it. Like, this can't be legal. 1:13:39 But as long as, as long as both feet... Well, as long as both feet are in contact with the ground when the ball comes out of his hand, maybe he times it well. It's, it, it- And, and he got that down to a science. 1:13:49 Good for him. Yeah, come back, go back, watch some of the highlights. It's... It, it was, it was breaking my brain. But, like, basically refs- Do they-... um, not enforcing the five-second rule enough. 1:14:00 I'm least impressed with their... Like, they're s- already starting to let it slip. Like, the ki- the goal kicks, they're, they're pretty good on. They're keeping the goalies going. 1:14:07 But throw ins, they're like, "Eh, this guy's gonna set up for a long one. I'll guess I'll let it..." And letting guys creep up, like, 40 yards, like, up the l- Like, start giving cards for these. 1:14:16 A guy takes a step forward, go, "If you step one more foot forward without throwing that ball in, I'm giving you a card." Like, guys'll stop doing it. So I'm least impressed with throw ins in the professional game. 1:14:25 Right. 'Cause I swear to God, these guys have played their entire lives. They know how to throw a ball in. Uh, most impressed for me was easy. 1:14:30 I'm, I'm taking Dunk to just, even in a game that's 4-0 already and you're having fun, to line that thing up and just bury that [laughs] shit top corner. 1:14:38 The other goalie definitely shit his pants when it came off his foot. He was like, "No fucking way did he just do that to me." So I'ma take that as my most impressed. Uh- Sure... 1:14:47 also Dunk not, like, seeming super, super, like, you know, shocked that he did it. He kind of was like, hands up like, "Yeah, dudes, I got that in my bag." Like, man, pull that club out every now and then. 1:14:57 [laughs] Like, we could use that. So that's my most impressed. Lewis Dunk, Lewis Dunk- Yeah... spent a whole season taking all of the free kicks for Brighton too. Like, he can hit a ball. Oh, I'm happy for him, man. 1:15:08 I'm happy for, like- [laughs]... a one-club man to get a shot like that. And he's the captain, all that. That's a great story right there. Yeah. So he, he seems like a good dude. 1:15:16 So obviously, as I mentioned, my wife's a Brighton fan, so we're like, we wa- I do watch a lot of their content. And they used to have, like, um- Mm... this like, silly, like, trivia game, uh, called Buzz's Bootroom. 1:15:28 [laughs] Uh, where they just like, you know, did a sort of nonsense trivia games with the players. And Dunk is just like, he's so involved in that, and he doesn't need to be. 1:15:38 And like, he seems like he's best friends with the kit man. Like, like, they were probably both on the youth team together, and Buzz didn't make it, but ended up- And Dunk, Dunk did... working for the club. 1:15:49 And they just- That's cool... seem like, they just seem like best friends. Um- Mm. And his, uh, Buzz's son, um, I don't know if he had leukemia or he had some pretty severe health in- uh, i- incident last year. 1:16:04 Uh, and like, I think that might've been the last time Dunk scored, last January. And like, so they dedi- like, the team dedicated all of their goals to, to Alex Burroughs, his kid, that whole game. And just seems like- 1:16:17 Mm... he just, like, seemed like a really wholesome group of, group of guys. Uh, but- Mm... love, love, love Dunky. Uh- [laughs]... love to see him score. And man, did he hit the piss out of that ball. 1:16:27 [laughs] He really did. You could, you could not have picked that ball up and placed it- And placed-... any better. Nah. It was beautiful Like, it was literally- It was beautiful... in, in the postage stamp. Yeah. So. 1:16:38 Yeah. All right, Dex, what, what were you most impressed about? Um, I'm, I'm kind of impressed by the teams that we didn't think would be unbeaten still. You know, Hull City, Brentford. Those two really, to be honest. 1:16:52 I'm kind of impressed by that they're still, like, a head above water. You know, when, uh, you know, United's... [laughs] That's all I gotta say. [laughs] That's all I'm gonna say. 1:17:04 [laughs] I'm hard on a lot of my teams- That was my, uh-... right now. I'm honestly, I'm most impressed by Hull. Like, they just keep getting it done. Yeah, Hu- Hull is doing it, man And- I like them. 1:17:13 They're fun- Like, they don't- They're... Yeah. They're fun to watch them too. And, and it doesn't look... Like, you watch them, they're not like, how the hell are they still unbeaten? Like, you watch- Mm... 1:17:23 them play and you're like, "Yeah, that makes sense." Like- Yeah... they, they- Everybody's jumping in... take their chances. They, they, they play a f- a, a good, hard-nosed brand of, of football, and I, I appreciate it. 1:17:37 Mm-hmm. Um, all right. Look, game week five, or match week five next week, last week before the international break. Um, 1:17:49 so obviously next week we'll do a recap, uh, of those games, and then the following week we'll probably have some content for you guys around international break and just some other nonsense about, uh, you know, who we think is getting canned first, who's in trouble, who's the early season favorite still. 1:18:06 That type of stuff- Mm... while we make our way through the boring international, uh, weekends. But next weekend, I only pulled out three games that seem like they're really gonna matter. 1:18:17 Uh, it's kind of a weird, uh, week for that. Uh, but Tottenham-Villa is an interesting one. Two teams who can't win, can't score. Um, feels like nil-nil all day. [laughs] Uh, Brighton versus Arsenal. 1:18:31 Brighton always put up a- Oh... hell of a fight against Arsenal. Arsenal- Where is that? Is that at the Amex? Who knows? Or is that at- Like, which Arsenal are we gonna get? Are we gonna get the Arsenal of that... 1:18:42 I think it's down at the Amex, yeah. Mm. All right. So like, are we gonna get the Arsenal who are gonna play pretty football and try to go toe-to-toe with Brighton? 1:18:50 Or are they gonna basically do what Chelsea did, which is give Brighton the ball and just hit them on the break and, you know, pick them apart every single opportunity and win 5, 5-2 or, or whatever? Um, we'll see. 1:19:06 I suspect Arteta's gonna do that. I don't, I don't think he... I think he's far too pragmatic to, 1:19:15 to go to Brighton and say, "We're gonna play this expansive, you know, front foot football where we're just gonna, like, blow you, you know, blow you away." I think they're gonna 1:19:24 let Brighton have the ball, negate Brighton's press, and just try to hit them, you know, through the lines. Um, and I guess the last thing on there is, like- Will we see Jokerez before the- [laughs]... 1:19:39 before the end of the century? I, I forgot he fucking existed. I forgot he fucking existed. Maybe yes, maybe no. [laughs] Jesus Christ. Two guys, Eze and Jokerez, off hanging out and doing a buddy comedy somewhere. Yeah. 1:19:48 Apparently he still exists. He's still making $300,000 a week. Oh, yeah. Payroll knows he exists, that's for sure. He can actually wear jeans to the game now 'cause he's not getting in. 1:19:57 [laughs] Uh, and then- Good times... and then the last game I pulled out is, uh, Man City versus Sunderland, just 'cause, man, Sunderland's a tough ass team. G- you know, does City stay... Do they stay perfect? 1:20:13 Stay at the top of the... You know, keeping pace with Arsenal? Obviously, depends on what Arsenal does, whether or not they are keeping pace, but, um, I think it's gonna be a tough game. 1:20:22 I think it's a good, uh, good, like, sort of bellwether of Arsenal just played Sunderland, now City have to play Sunderland. Mm-hmm. And, like, where are we at? Like, obviously it's not exactly the same. 1:20:35 Sunderland's going to the Etihad, Arsenal have to go to the Stadium of Light. It's not a one to one, but if City go there and, uh, or Ar- you know, bluh, bluh, bluh. Sunderland turn up and City 1:20:48 roll out of there four-nothing winners, we're starting to talk about, like, can Arsenal keep pace with City? Mm. Sunderland walk out of there with a point or maybe even three, 1:20:59 now we're again talking about, like, no, you know, it's, it's Arsenal's title to lose. Uh, and the only thing that'll stop them is injuries. So we'll see. 1:21:08 Like, if City g- if City go in there and whoop their ass, you- That's interesting. We'll see what happens there. 1:21:11 I'm very- You will get some of the fun takes of is Pep, like the people on the fringes who love content, is Pep, was Pep that important? Do they really need Pep? Or maybe it's just the team that does it. 1:21:20 But, you know, obviously that's a bullshit take, but you will... I guarantee- Yes... if they win, like, five, six in a row, you're gonna start hearing that. Like- It's, it's gonna be a little Colby... 1:21:30 how necessary was Pep for you? Yeah, how necessary was Pep? And then our final segment of the week, Wrexham damn near killed them. Talk about rectum. Jesus fucking Christ. 6-nil Wrexham lost to West Ham. 1:21:45 Uh, there's not much else to say, but [laughs] worst, worst defeat of the, uh, Rob and Ryan era. Uh, West Ham are basically already up. They're already back in, in the Premier League. 1:22:00 They are undefeated, uh, scoring goals for fun. Mm. But when you guys got, like, when you have, like, Jarrod Bowen playing in the championship, it's, it's unfair. They... He should've been banned. 1:22:12 They should've had to have loaned him. [laughs] Like, he's so much better than every single person in the EF- in the championship that it's just, it's just wholly unfair. But, uh, our boys, our Red Dragons, uh, 1:22:27 were having a rough time of it. They've only won one. Uh, now they've lost two, drawn three or four, something like that. Um- So this, this is their worst loss in the, uh, Reynolds, uh, McElhenney, uh, era? Yeah. 1:22:43 Program? F- f- worst loss in the Rob and Ryan era. Rob and Ryan. Yeah, that m- that's easier. [laughs] Rob and Ryan. Yeah. Much easier to say. McElhenney. McElhenney. Uh, I... It's gonna be tough from here. 1:22:56 They are, you know, closer to the bottom than they are the top. Yeah, there's- Nobody's catching West Ham, so their, I think their best shot is, at this point, shoot for the playoffs. 1:23:08 With that said, there are so many fucking games in the championship and they come thick and fast. Things change on a dime. Um, I still have trust in, in, in the, uh, in the boys- Mm... that they'll get it over the line. 1:23:21 They'll be in the Premier League next year. But that's a, that's a tough championship That'd be great if they make it. That'd be good. You know, you always- It's just a good s- Yeah. It's just a story. You know? 1:23:31 It's just a good... It is a great story. It's just a good story to see someone who is doing it for the right reasons. I, I firmly believe Rob McElhenney, like, did it with the, the right intentions. 1:23:44 Um, and it, it's not a business. It's not a money-making scheme. It's not to sell, um, Netflix series or whatever, you know- Mm... Apple TV series, whatever it is. Like, I think he was like, 1:23:57 he fell in love with the game working on the show because they had a showrunner who was English, and he told him, you know, all about football. He fell in love with the game. 1:24:06 He fell in love with Wrexham, and he wants to take them to the top. So I hope they get there, but- I hope so too... 6-nil was a tough one. You know, it's such a tricky thing, right? 1:24:16 You have a team in that division, or they, they moved up, which, good for them. But what do you do? You try to buy a great player, or do you try to raise up great players that you have? Like, it's a funny thing. 1:24:27 Or you f- you, you attract one great player who wants to c- c- come and then everybody follows suit. I, you, you know, it's a, it's a tricky thing. Yeah. 1:24:37 Um- Like, you can, you can get promoted by buying, like, you know, bringing in the sort of veteran Premier League player who needs to drop down a division who's still great, like a Jarrod Bowen type player. Mm-hmm. 1:24:48 Maybe a little older, but, like, like, if they could've, if they could've gotten Jamie Vardy in. Like, Jamie Vardy would probably get them promoted. Mm. But Jamie Vardy's not gonna do shit in the Premier League anymore. 1:25:00 Right, right. So, like, like, they need to decide- Who did he sign? The, who did Vardy sign with?... what they do. Like... I forget, man. Guys- It's, it don't matter. Yeah. Yeah. I forgot who it was. 1:25:15 Only 'cause I remember Everton was, like, thinking about getting him and then- He went over last year Yeah... yeah, and he signed with someone. He plays for Burnley. Okay, Burnley. Burnley. That's good. Smart. Yeah. 1:25:24 That's, that's a good team for him to play for. So, like, yeah, he'll get, he'll... There's a good chance he gets Burnley back up, although they started, they, they started really, really badly. Um, all right, boys. 1:25:36 All right. Well, this was good. That's it for the night. I think we've lost Sean. He's, he's frozen on my end. Frozen? Yes. Frozen heads, man. Dexter, Remy, it was lovely speaking with you- Yeah, man... as always. 1:25:47 Love you, my brother, as always. You know how it is. You know how we are. Lo- love you, and, uh, up the Chels. I'm sure you- Yeah... agree- Yeah... wholeheartedly. Yeah. Of course, man. Of course. Of course. All right. 1:25:59 Yeah. Have a great w- have a great week, everybody. Uh- Glory, glory, Man United still, by the way. [laughs] All right. This, this- Give me likes and subscribes and- All right... 1:26:06 get in the comments and do all that nonsense. All right, friends. Take care. All right. Peace. Peace.
